Fashion is made to become unfashionable. Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future. Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.

Money doesn’t buy elegance. You can take an inexpensive sheath, add a pretty scarf, gray shoes, and a wonderful bag, and it will always be elegant. I don’t like trends. They tend to make everybody look the same.

I have a fantastic relationship with money. I use it to buy my freedom. Even Michelangelo got paid for doing the Sistine Chapel. To those artists who say they’re doing it for the love of art, I say: Get real. I try to contrast; life today is full of contrast… We have to change. I like the body. I like to design everything to do with the body. I try to contrast; life today is full of contrast… We have to change.
